MIDSHIPMEN MOHAMMAD SAFWAN SHAFIEE BIN HAJI ABDUL HARIS FROM OCS INTAKE 25 DEPARTS FOR MIDSHIPMEN COURSE INTERNATIONAL OFFICER BRIDGING PROGRAMME AND 144/26 OFFICER CADET COURSE AT THE REPUBLIC OF SINGAPORE

BRUNEI INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT, Sunday, 07 June 2026 – Midshipmen Mohammad Safwan Shafiee bin Haji Abdul Haris from the Officer Cadet School (OCS) of Intake 25, Defence Academy Royal Brunei Armed Forces (DA RBAF) departed to the Republic of Singapore for the Midshipmen Course International Officer Bridging Programme and 144/26 Officer Cadet Course starting from 15 June 2026 until 13 March 2027. Present was Lieutenant Colonel Faizal Azly bin Haji Rosli, the Commanding Officer of OCS DA RBAF, OCS Intake Officers instructors.


The training is designed to equip Naval Officer Cadets (OCdts) with both theoretical knowledge and practical skills in the operation and handling of warships. Throughout the course, the OCdts will be expose to key naval competencies, including navigation and seamanship, which enables them to develop a comprehensive understanding of naval operations. The demanding training environment will challenge the OCdts to apply their knowledge effectively, maintain discipline, and demonstrate sound judgement in operational scenarios.

The participation of the Royal Brunei Navy Officer Cadet in the course reflects the Royal Brunei Armed Forces’ commitment to developing competent and professional Naval Officers that are capable of operating effectively in a maritime environment. Beyond enhancing their knowledge and practical skills, the course also provided a valuable platform to strengthen professional ties and foster greater cooperation with the Republic of Singapore Navy (RSN) and other participating countries.
