PENANJONG GARRISON, THURSDAY, 21 MAY 2026 – Officer Cadets (OCdts) of Intake 25 concluded the Exercise First Strike at Binturan Firing Range, Penanjong Garrison, Tutong District.
The exercise was designed to simulate the conduct of patrol and security operations in safeguarding the area of operation, while developing command, leadership and tactical competencies through a challenging section-level field exercise.
As part of the exercise, the OCdts were given a live tactical demonstration by personnel from the Royal Brunei Land Forces (RBLF). The demonstration provided valuable exposure to the application of Section Battle Drills, tactical formations and manoeuvres, enabling the OCdts to observe and understand the effective execution of infantry operations in a realistic training environment.
Exercise First Strike provided an opportunity for the OCdts to apply the knowledge and skills acquired throughout their training at the Officer Cadet School, Defence Academy Royal Brunei Armed Forces (OCS DA RBAF). Throughout the exercise, they were assessed on their leadership, tactical decision-making and ability to command their sections effectively during simulated combat scenarios. The training further enhanced their fieldcraft competencies, including platoon harbouring, field administration and the execution of operational tasks under demanding conditions.
The successful completion of Exercise First Strike reflects the progressive development of the OCdts’ confidence, resilience and leadership potential, while demonstrating the Officer Cadet School’s commitment to producing capable and professional future officers of the Royal Brunei Armed Forces who are prepared to lead in complex and challenging operational environments.
