PENANJONG GARRISON, THURSDAY, 21ST MAY 2026 – The Officer Cadet School Defence Academy Royal Brunei Armed Forces (OCS DA RBAF) held a field rank appointment ceremony for Officer Cadets (OCdt) of Intake 25, which took place at the Binturan Firing Range, Penanjong Garrison.
The ceremony was officiated by Major Abdul Qahhar bin Haji Abdul Mulok, Intake Commander of OCS and the intake officers were also in attendance. The ceremony commenced with the recitation of Surah Al-Fatihah, followed by the presentation of rank insignia. A total of 23 OCdts were appointed to leadership roles within their respective platoons, including Cadet Sergeant Major (CSM), Assistant Cadet Sergeant Major (ACSM), three Cadet Platoon Sergeants (CPS), nine Cadet Corporals and nine Cadet Lance Corporals.
The recital of Doa and a group photo session marked the end of the ceremony. The appointed OCdts are handed the responsibility of overseeing, directing, and establishing the standard for their platoon and section. These positions are crucial in determining their leadership path. In addition to acknowledging the OCdts' abilities, the rank appointment ceremony at OCS prepares them to take on more responsibility as future RBAF leaders.
