TANAH JAMBU, Friday, 18 April 2025 – Officer Cadets (OCdts) from Intake 24 were recognised for their leadership and performance during a dual ceremony held at the Officer Cadet School, Defence Academy, Royal Brunei Armed Forces (OCS DA RBAF). The event featured both the Rank Appointment Ceremony and the Section Squad Drill Recognition Ceremony.
The ceremony was officiated by Captain Nursazwilla binti Rosdie and attended by OCS instructors. It began with the recitation of Surah Al-Fatihah, setting a solemn and respectful tone for the proceedings.
Twelve OCdts were officially appointed to new ranks within their respective sections, reflecting their leadership potential and contributions to their platoons. Six were promoted to Officer Cadet Corporal (IC), while the remaining were promoted to Officer Cadet Lance Corporal (2IC). These appointments form part of a structured leadership framework that introduces OCdts to the responsibilities of section-level command. It provides a platform for developing accountability, decision-making, and teamwork — essential attributes for their progression as future officers in the Royal Brunei Armed Forces.
The second half of the event featured the Section Squad Drill Recognition Ceremony, which honoured sections that demonstrated outstanding drill performance during a recent evaluation. OCdts were assessed on their precision, coordination, and cohesion — all of which reflect the discipline and unity emphasised throughout training. The recognition served to reinforce the importance of collective excellence and operational readiness.
The ceremony concluded with a closing prayer and remarks encouraging all OCdts to remain committed to upholding the values of leadership, discipline, and service in their journey towards officership.
