OFFICER CADET SCHOOL CONDUCTS JUNGLE SURVIVAL TRAINING FOR INTAKE 25

TANAH JAMBU, SATURDAY, 28 MARCH 2026 – Officer Cadets (OCdts) of Intake 25 from the Officer Cadet School (OCS), Defence Academy Royal Brunei Armed Forces (DA RBAF), conducted jungle survival training at the Jungle Training Area (JTA), DA RBAF.

The training combined theory and practical field application to equip the officer cadets with essential survival knowledge and skills for operating in austere and limited-resource environments. Areas covered included survival techniques with minimal equipment, the construction of shelters for one-day, three-day and seven-day scenarios, identification of edible and poisonous plants, fire-making techniques, cooking, water-sourcing methods, and the basic use of survival equipment.
As part of the practical component, the officer cadets also took part in demonstrations on the slaughtering and preparation of chickens in accordance with Islamic guidelines, conducted by a representative from the Royal Brunei Armed Forces Religious Directorate (JAMA’AT).
The training was aimed at enhancing the officer cadets’ adaptability, resourcefulness and self-sufficiency in a jungle environment. It also served to strengthen their confidence and resilience in facing challenging terrain and operational conditions.
