OFFICER CADETS OF INTAKE 23 BEGAN THEIR INDIVIDUAL MILITARY APPRECIATION PROCESS (IMAP) PACKAGE AND ORDERS DELIVERY

TANAH JAMBU, Thursday, 18 July 2024 – Officer Cadet of intake 23 was introduced to Individual Military Appreciation Process (IMAP), a systematic approach used by military personnel to convey a thorough understanding of the situation, formulating an effective plan that can be implemented successfully and make informed decisions to accomplish the mission effectively.

The IMAP was conducted in 3 phases done in groups, pairs and individuals. These were named Iron Duke 1, Iron Duke 2 and PRACTAC respectively. Prior to each phase, the Officer Cadets were tasked with assessing and understanding the terrain of the hypothetical scenario. These scenarios became relatively more complex as the phases advanced. This is to ensure the development of the Officer Cadets’ operational and tactical proficiency where they are evaluated on their ability to apply theoretical knowledge in dynamic and unpredictable situations, demonstrating adaptability, critical thinking and effective communication under stress.

In summary, the complexity of IMAP increases with the progression of military personnel through various career stages, from initial training to leadership roles. It evolves from basic skills assessment to encompass specialized training and strategic thinking. This structured approach ensures that military personnel are prepared to meet the demands of their roles effectively and contribute to the overall mission success in the RBAF.
