TANAH JAMBU, THURSDAY, 19 December 2024 - Officer Cadets (OCdts) of Intake 23 are stepping up their preparation to become tomorrow’s military leaders by completing a module on Defence Instructional Techniques (DIT) Qualification as part of their final term commissioning course. This program is to equip the OCdts with the skills necessary to deliver quality lessons to their peers and subordinates effectively.
The module consists of a series of theory lessons where the OCdts are exposed to different instructor roles, qualities of an instructor, question and answer techniques, coaching, mentoring and learning. By mastering these skills, they ensure that military personnel at all levels receive the professional instruction needed to excel in complex and dynamic environments. The module included the OCdts taking on the role as an instructor, where they were given the chance to teach their peers lessons and receive feedback from their supervisors.
The DIT Qualification incorporates various elements such as Lesson Planning and Preparation, Assessment and Feedback, and Classroom and Field Delivery Techniques which qualifies the OCdts into becoming instructors in their future careers. This serves as a foundational step in preparing OCdts for their transition into leadership roles within a professional military environment.
