TANAH JAMBU, Thursday, 04 May 2023 – Officer Cadet School (OCS) organised their first leadership exercise named the Tactical Command Tasks (TCT) earlier today at the Defence Academy compound to assess the leadership capabilities of the Officer Cadets (OCdts) of Intake 22.
The exercise began with each section being deployed one at a time to complete 10 stations under the supervision of the platoon commanders, instructors, and physical training instructors (PTI). Each member in the section had an opportunity to lead their team to complete the stand.
One of the obstacles they underwent was called ‘Chasm Crossing’ where they had to cross a chasm to escape from the flood. Another obstacle they went through is called ‘Log Race’ where the OCdts have to bring one log from one point to another in which the log represents a bridge to bring from point ‘A’ to village ‘B’ for the villagers to escape the flood. The exercise prepared the OCdts for the various scenarios they might face, training their ability to be calm in an urgent situation and lead their team through it.
The numerous obstacles was aimed to expose the officer cadets to brave unknown situations and to assess them critically with the thinking tools given, developing their skills as both a leader and a follower. This exercise served as a foundation for the officer cadets to undertake more mentally and physically challenging exercises in the future.
TANAH JAMBU, Khamis, 04 Mei 2023 – Sekolah Pegawai Kadet (SPK) menganjurkan latihan kepimpinan pertama mereka yang dinamakan Tactical Command Tasks (TCT) pada pagi tadi. Latihan tersebut berlaku di kawasan Akademi Pertahanan Angkatan Bersenjata Diraja Brunei (AP ABDB). Tujuan latihan tersebut adalah untuk menilai keupayaan Pegawai-Pegawai Kadet (PKdt) Pengambilan Ke 22 sebagai pemimpin.
Latihan dimulakan dengan pelepasan satu persatu dari setiap seksyen untuk melengkapkan 10 stesen dibawah pengawasan daripada ketua platun, jurulatih, dan jurulatih latihan fizikal (PTI).
Salah satu ujian yang bernama ‘Minefield’ dimana PKdt diberikan senario untuk menyelamatkan orang yang cedera dan kenderaan yang tersekat di dalam padang lombong (minefield). Satu lagi ujian yang dihadapi yang dinamakan ‘Chasm Crossing’ dimana PKdt diletakkan dalam situasi di mana mereka diperlukan untuk menyeberangi jurang untuk menyelamatkan diri dari banjir.
1 Seksyen dari 1 Platun telah diumumkan juara bagi latihan ini kerana telah mengumpul markah tertinggi. Latihan tersebut menjadi asas bagi PKdt untuk menghadapi latihan yang lebih mencabar dari segi fizikal dan mental pada masa hadapan iaitu pada latihan CO’s Challenge, Commandant’s Challenge dan Commander’s Challenge.
