OFFICER CADETS OF INTAKE 23 COMPLETES ORIENTEERING COMPETITON


​TANAH JAMBU, THURSDAY, 26th December 2024 – Officer Cadets (OCdts) of Intake 23 participated in an orienteering competition. The competition took place around the compound of Defence Academy, Royal Brunei Armed Forces (DA RBAF). The orienteering competition was designed to test and enhance the OCdts endurance and decision making skills. The event was graced by the presence of the Guest of Honor, Lieutenant Commander Haji Ahmad Ahdaa Bin Haji Ahmad, RBN, Acting Intake Commander of Officer Cadet School (OCS). Also In attendance were the Platoon Commanders and Instructors of OCS.  

For the Orienteering competition, a total of 6 sections were involved. The OCdts navigated and planned their course throughout the compound with only a map in hand. The OCdts must traverse checkpoints and make strategic decisions to complete the course in the shortest possible time. The competition concluded with a prize presentation by the Guest of Honor to the winning section, Section 6, who completed the track with a time of 144 minutes. 

The Orienteering Competition for OCS Intake 23 is more than a test of physical endurance and navigational skills—it is a transformative experience that strengthens the character, resilience, and leadership qualities of future officers. This event reflects the commitment of OCS to prepare cadets for the challenges of their future roles, fostering not only individual excellence but also the teamwork and determination essential for success.
