LEADERSHIP TALK WITH ROYAL BRUNEI AIR FORCE COMMANDER

RIMBA, WEDNESDAY, 13th November 2024 – A Leadership Talk was delivered to the Air Force Officer Cadets by Brigadier General (U) Dato Seri Pahlawan Mohd Sharif bin Dato Paduka Haji Ibrahim, Commander of the Royal Brunei Air Force (RBAirF). The session took place at the Alap-Alap Room, Headquarters Royal Brunei Air Force Base in Rimba.

The Commander began the session by discussing the essential qualities of being an officer. He emphasised the importance of integrity, accountability, and commitment, underscoring that an officer’s role is not only to lead but to serve as a model for others. Leadership, he noted, is grounded in both attitude and competence.

Moving forward, Brigadier General (U) Dato Seri Pahlawan Mohd Sharif introduced the concept of continuous improvement, encouraging the officer cadets to always look for ways to grow and enhance their capabilities. He stressed that leaders should be lifelong learners, always adapting and refining their skills to meet new challenges. This focus on development, he stated, is a cornerstone of effective leadership.

In his leadership advice, Brigadier General (U) Dato Seri Pahlawan Mohd Sharif provided guidance on the essential do’s and don’ts that Officer Cadets should observe as they develop their leadership skills. He encouraged them to focus on positive leadership behaviors, remain open to growth, and consistently uphold the values and standards of the Air Force. He also advised them to avoid behaviors that undermine teamwork, integrity, or accountability, emphasizing that true leaders act with respect, humility, and resilience.
 
Concluding his talk, he reminded the officer cadets to maintain humility, respect each other, and uphold dignity in all actions.
