SAFTI MILITARY INSTITUTE, THURSDAY, 24 October 2024 – The Officer Cadets (OCdts) of Intake 23 had completed their Urban Operation Training Program (UOTP) between Singapore Armed Forces Training Institute Military Institute (SAFTI MI) and Royal Brunei Armed Forces (RBAF).
During the three week program, the Officer Cadets (OCdts) engaged in various activities, including Combat Physical Training, familiarization with the Singapore Assault Rifle 21 (SAR 21), and Urban Operations Tactics, Techniques and Procedures (TTPs). They also participated in Exercises Coyote II and Coyote III. Additionally, the OCdts took part in the SAFTI Aquatic Obstacle Course (SAOC) at the SAFTI Military Institute swimming pool. These exercises and activities not only promoted resilience among the OCdts but also instilled a strong mindset focused on perseverance and teamwork throughout their training.
To conclude the UOTP, a closing ceremony was held at the Cadet Mess Hall of SAFTI MI. The event started off with an exchange of gifts between COL Wong Pui Pin, Commander of OCS SAFTI MI and Lt Col (U) Pg Haji Muhammad Yusri bin Pg Haji Sharifuddin, Commanding Officer of OCS RBAF. The night concluded with dinner and a sharing session between the OCdt of Intake 23 and OCdt of Delta Wing, SAFTI MI of their experiences throughout the program.
The officers, instructors and OCdts will depart from Paya Lebar Air Base on 25th of October 2024. Overall, the training package exposed the OCdt on the importance of safety, security, ability to lead, friendship and inspiration. Through this, the diplomatic relationship between Brunei and Singapore will continue to prosper for more years to come.
