TANAH JAMBU, Tuesday, 26 March 2024 – 12 Officer Cadets (OCdts) of Intake 23 were presented with their respective rank insignias today at the Rank Appointment Ceremony held at the Officer Cadet School (OCS) Mess Hall 1.
The ceremony was officiated by Major Mohammad Raihan bin Haji Borhanuddin, the Intake Commander of OCS. Also, in attendance at the ceremony were officers and instructors of OCS intake 23.
The event commenced with the recitation of Surah Al-Fatihah, followed by the officiating of the rank appointments by the Guest of Honour. Six OCdts were promoted to Cadet Corporal, and also 6 OCdts were promoted to Cadet Lance Corporal of respective sections. The event then concluded with the recitation of Doa Selamat.
The rank system establishes a clear chain of command. It allows the OCdts to understand and exercise the principles of military leadership and the importance of following orders. The different ranks will also expose OCdts to various levels of responsibility and leadership, giving them practical experience in decision-making and team management. Through this structure, OCdts refine their leadership skills and character and are better prepared to meet the high standards expected of RBAF officers.
