THE DEFENCE INSTRUCTIONAL TECHNIQUES (DIT) QUALIFICATION OF OFFICER CADET SCHOOL (OCS) INTAKE 22

TANAH JAMBU, Thursday, 21 December 2023 - The officer cadets of Intake 22 have completed Defence Instructional Techniques (DIT) Qualification as part of the final term of their commissioning course. The training was conducted for 2 weeks by DIT qualified instructors.
The first phase consists of a series of theory lessons. The officer cadets were exposed to the different instructor roles, the qualities of an instructor, method of learning; visual, audio, read/write and kinesthetic (VARK), learners skills analysis, method of using instructional aids, question and answer techniques, learners assessments, coaching, mentoring and learning. 

The second phase is practical sessions conducted by the officer cadets where the officer cadets take the role as instructors, teach their peers lessons and receive feedback from the duty supervisor. The cadets were gradually learning and improving their skills by starting with the topic of their choice to teaching the assigned topics such as leadership, psychology theories and skills-based lessons. 

The DIT Qualification training has offered teaching skills, class management and developing lesson plans which qualify the cadets into becoming instructors in their future career. This acts as a stepping stone to prepare the cadets as they transition into becoming a leader in the professional setting.
