TANAH JAMBU, Defence Academy, Monday, 18 October 2021 – Brigadier General (U) Dato Seri Pahlawan Mohammad Sharif bin Dato Paduka Haji Ibrahim, Commander of the RBAirF attended a session with 18 Air Force Officer Cadets (OCS) of Intake 20 on the first day out of three days sharing session under the Special-To-Service (STS) term. The Air Force Officer Cadets were arranged at the Syndicate Room following SOP given by the Ministry of Health.The session began with the recitation of Surah Al-Fatihah by Officer Cadet (U) Awangku Muhd Nur’Nazirul Mubin bin Pengiran Roslan then followed by a Welcoming Remarks and brief introduction on the Commander of RBAirF by Officer Cadet (U) Dayang Nur Aminatul ‘Aziemah Azreen binti Awang Haji Mohd Hasreen.
The session continued on with a speech and presentation given by the Commander of RBAirF to the Officer Cadet of Intake 20 regarding on being an Officer in the Royal Brunei Armed Forces (RBAF) which includes leading by example and learning how to deal with people. The Commander of RBAirF ended his presentation with a questions and answers session. It was a fruitful, two ways interaction between the Commander of RBAirF and the Air Force Officer Cadets as the Officer Cadets asked questions to get clarification after commissioning from OCS and posted to their unit as a Junior Officer. The session concluded with the recitation of closing doa and closing remarks by the Officer Cadets.
The three days programme also includes session with the Commanding Officer of No. 7 Wing, Officers from OCS Intake 1, 2 and 3 as well as Subject Matter Experts (SME) Officers. The programme aim to clarify the Officer Cadets on their preferred vocations, career development, the culture of Air Force and what to expect when the Officer Cadets become a Junior Officer in service and also gain knowledge by sharing experience pertaining to areas such as officer-ship and leadership. Furthermore, there are some feedbacks given by the Officer Cadets on the STS programme improvements. Advice and motivation were given by the Senior Officers to get through the commissioning course during this pandemic.
