TANAH JAMBU, Defence Academy, Sunday, 26 September 2021 – The Commanding Officer of the Officer Cadet School (OCS), Lt Col Pg Siti Khatamalzariah binti Pg Hj Kamaludin held a virtual session with 85 Officer Cadets of Intake 20 via virtual platform, Zoom, where each unit were arranged in different places, 47 Land Force Officer Cadets at Auditorium of DA RBAF, 19 Air Force Officer Cadets at Syndicate Room and 20 Midshipmen at the OCS Lecture Theatre following the SOP given by the Ministry of Health. In attendance were the Intake Commander of Intake 20, Officers and Officer Cadets of Intake 20.
The session began with the recitation of Surah Al-Fatihah then followed by the speech from the Commanding Officer to the Officer Cadet of Intake 20 regarding the current situation and the future planning for the training program in Officer Cadet School to resume training as usual accordingly with the safety measures of Covid-19 guidelines that has been established by The Ministry of Health. It has been 34 weeks into the Officer Cadets’ training and in regards to the current situation, the Commanding Officer emphasized to take this as an opportunity for Officer Cadets to learn all the lessons while adapting with the COVID-19 restrictions. The Officer Cadets were also informed that they may need to stay at the Officer Cadet School until their commissioning date due to the COVID-19 pandemic for the safety of the Officer Cadets but their welfare will not be taken lightly.
The Commanding Officer also mentioned that joint trainings following the COVID-19 SOP, will also be conducted in future such as the STAB OPS and RMQ. In addition, physical activities such as CPFA and CFT will also be conducted accordingly in order to maintain and to meet the training objectives of Officer Cadet School. Before the session concluded, the rank appointment holders were also highlighted to make full use of their appointments and exercise their leadership to shape the intake in order to maintain their discipline while instilling the core values of RBAF.
