TANAH JAMBU, Friday, 24 May 2024 – Officer Cadets of Intake 23 underwent a high rope obstacle course today. The training conducted at the obstacle course Defence Academy Royal Brunei Armed Forces (DA RBAF) was intended to familiarize the officer cadets with tactical prowess and agility relevant to combat scenarios, while also serving as a means for physical training and bolstering confidence.
The officer cadets’ physical endurance and mentality were constantly being tested as they were presented with three obstacles consisting of Traverse Jump, Abseiling, and Uneven Climb. One of the courses required the cadets to jump from a tall single pole to reach a detached hanging handle with the safety being only the ropes attached to their bodies, which is a huge test on their bravery.
This training has allowed the officer cadets to showcase both their mental and physical courage, skills, and professionalism as they operate through the course. Through this, the significance of meticulous training, preparation, developing a positive attitude like facing fears head on, staying calm in high stake situations, and teamwork is underscored in order to achieve a successful military career.
