TANAH JAMBU, 24 February 2023 – The Officer Cadet School (OCS) commissioning course (CC) aims to develop leadership in the Officer Cadets (OCdt) by expanding their character, intellect and professional competencies to a level demanded of an RBAF Officer on first appointment. The course strives to give the OCdt the knowledge necessary to their service and foster the moral and mental qualities required of leadership.
The Course is divided to 3 terms;
➡Generic term: Also known as the Militarization Phase. Officer cadets will go through intensive basic military training to foster team building and platoon identity. This term will include progressive combat fitness syllabus and introduction to leadership & management doctrine, cadetship, defence knowledge and ethos training.
➡Special to Service term: This term is designed to prepare for operational performance standard for each service. All training will be conducted in service locations.
➡Final term: On this term, cadets will undertake adventurous training and undergo a series of challenges to test their leadership abilities.
The OCS CC is a 48 weeks course with the end state to produce officers who are physically and mentally robust, demonstrating intellectual agility, resilience, uphold the principles of the Malay Islamic Monarchy philosophy and embodies the core values of the RBAF.
