TANAH JAMBU, Monday, 18 March 2019 – Officer Cadet School today held a ceremony to appoint the Officer Cadet that was selected to hold a leading role within the 18th Intake. The ceremony was held at the Officer Cadet School (OCS) Mess Hall of the Defence Academy Royal Brunei Armed Forces (DA RBAF), Tanah Jambu. 23 Officer Cadets were appointed to be Cadet rank holder for the 18th intake. The rank given were one Officer Cadet Warrant Officer (OCdt WO), one Officer Cadet Staff Sergeant (OCdt SSgt), 3 Officer Cadet Sergeants (OCdt Sgt), 9 Officer Cadet Corporal (OCdt Cpl) and 9 Officer Cadet Lance Corporal (OCdt LCpl).
The newly appointed rank including 1 recipient of the Supreme Commander Royal Brunei Armed Forces Scholarship who was promoted to OCdt WO. The rank was given to provides opportunity for the officer cadets to be trained in being effective and efficient leadership and administration. The system enables Officer Cadets to learn the duties connected with the various appointments within the Platoon on an administrative matters and to develop their character and leadership traits in the process of discharging their duties.
Officer Cadet appointment holders will be selected by the Intake Commander OCS DA RBAF through the recommendations of the Platoon Commander. Present to give out the insignias was
the Guest of Honour at the Ceremony, the Commanding Officer of Officer Cadet School, Lieutenant Colonel Amirul Adly bin Haji Ali. Also present during the ceremony was Officers, Instructors and Staff of Officer Cadet School.
