TANAH JAMBU Defence Academy, Sunday 23 August 2019 – The Intake 18 Officer Cadets of the Officer Cadet School (OCS) held a Tug of War tournament for their organised sports event. Tug of War was the first organised sport activities that was conducted during the first week of their Special-To-Service (STS) Term. The objective of the event was to prosper the values of teamwork and togetherness within the intake through its respective platoons. Present as the Guest of Honour for the event was the Intake Commander of OCS Intake 18, Major Khairul Faizin bin Abd Ghapar. The event was comprised of 6 teams, whereby each Platoon was divided into 2 teams. All 6 teams competed in a double knockout tournament format, where each team had 2 chances to go into the finals and claim the title of the overall Tug of War champion. The event was finalised with a special mini-tournament where each platoon was put to the test with their 12 strongest competitors to go against one another at the Platoon level. The overall champion for the organised sport was a team from 2 Platoon. Ultimately, the tournament has successfully achieved its objectives and it is hope that Officer Cadets will develop the traits of professional sportsmanship as it is greatly valued in the Royal Brunei Armed Forces. The event was concluded with a positive closing remark by the Guest of Honour before dismissal.
