TANAH JAMBU, Friday, 24 January 2020 – A total of 73 young officers received their certificate of commissioning at Officer Cadet School, Defence Academy, Royal Brunei Armed Forces.

Present as Guest of Honour was Colonel Haji Muhammad Haszaimi bin Bol Hassan, Commandant of Defence Academy. Also present were Senior Officers, Officers, newly commissioned Officers and DA Personnel.

The occasion initiated with the recitation of the Surah Al-Fatihah by 1314 Lt Zairul Hafiy bin Haji Mat Zaini. Followed by the recitation of verses from the Surah Al-Kahfi from 1 to 10 by 1324 Lt Muhammad Hazazi bin Rossiman and alongside the interpretation of the verses.

Following through was a course rundown from Major (U) Awang Muhammad Yusra bin Awang Jafar, Intake Commander of Intake 18, which featured the accomplishments of the young officers while training at Officer Cadet School from 31 January 2019 until 23 January 2020. Intake 18 is the pioneering intake to be given the opportunity to be exposed to global gatherings in China and Singapore to enduring new challenges, for example, the 21 KM log race and lastly, effectively showcased a new format of the sovereign’s parade.

The Intake Commander additionally shared a Sabda from Prophet Muhammad (SAW) reported by Abdullah bin Umar, “All of you are shepherds, and each and one of you is responsible for his flock. An Imam is a shepherd and he is responsible for those in his care.”

The certificate presentation was followed by awards, presented by the Guest of Honour, to the award winners of Intake 18; 1353 Lieutenant (U) Wan Mohammad Hijazi bin Haji Yussof (Sword of Honour), 1355 Lieutenant (U) Muhammad Ghazali bin Haji Suhaili (Best Academic), 1310 Lieutenant Awangku Wafauddin bin Pengiran Ismail (Best Military Skills) and 1364 Lieutenant Mohammad Zulfitri bin Haji Zoferi (Best Physical Fitness).

Officer Cadet School Defence Academy Royal Brunei Armed Forces aims to provide proficient, thorough and restrained training package for the advancement of potential young officers. This is to establish them as military officers in the RBAF and along these lines, to provide the organization another age of critical problem solvers that upholds the organization’s core values.
