In conjunction with Maulidurrasul 1443H, the Officer Cadet School, Defence Academy RBAF had held their first Musabaqah Tilawah Al-Qur’an event on Saturday, 16 October 2021 to commemorate the birth anniversary of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH). Due to COVID-19 outbreak, the event was conducted online via virtual platform Zoom meeting.
Present virtually at the event as the guest of honor was 768 Lt Col Pg. Siti Khatamalzariah binti Pg. Haji Kamaluddin, Commanding Officer of Officer Cadet School. Also, in attendance were the 823 Maj (U) Muhd Yusra bin Awg Jafar, Intake Commander of intake 20 along with Officers and instructors as well as the invited judges from Religious Department RBAF namely Ustaz Hj Rosli bin Hj Batang, Ustaz abdul Nasir bin Hassan and 16791 Sgt Hj Muhd Yusri bin Hj Awg Yusof.
The Musabaqah Tilawah Al-Qur’an event is best viewed to enhancing the practice and study of the Al-Qur’an among the Officer Cadets as well as to encourage a healthy competition between the Officer Cadets. Furthermore, the goal of this competition is to inculcate the values from our Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) as well as to foster and nurture an appreciation, love and enthusiasm for the Al-Qur’an in the hearts and minds of each Muslims.
In order to promote competition between the Officer Cadets, six participants recited their chosen verses from the Al-Qur’an. Being able to apply the correct use of Tajweed, Tarteel Rules, Aesthetic and confidence in their performance. 22118 OCdt Siti Salihah binti Hj Aji holds the first place of the competition and 54068 OCdt Muhd Hafiz bin Hj Hamzulani holds the second place followed by 54073 OCdt Mohd Noor Ridzwan bin Ahad. The event was concluded with religious performances by the Officer Cadets and the presentation of Dana Intake 20 to 13576 Staff Sergeant Muhd Syazwan bin Abdullah Gumpulan @ Halezay bin Gumpulan.
