TANAH JAMBU, Defence Academy, Monday 29 May 2023 – Twelve (12) Officer Cadets of Intake 22 were presented with their respective rank insignias today at the Rank Appointment Ceremony at the Officer Cadet School (OCS) Mess Hall 1.
The ceremony was officiated by the Guest of Honour, Lt Cdr Muhammad Adib Izzuddin bin Haji Ramli, RBN, the Intake Commander A of OCS. The Intake Commander B, Maj Mohammad Raihan bin Borhanuddin, Platoon Commanders, Instructors, Training Team, and Officer Cadets (OCdts) were in attendance at the ceremony.
The event commenced with the recitation of Surah Al-Fatihah, followed by the officiating of the rank appointments by the Guest of Honour. Six (6) Officer Cadets were promoted to Cadet Corporal, and six (6) were promoted to Cadet Lance Corporal of respective sections. The event then concluded with the recitation of Doa Selamat.
The rank system establishes a clear chain of command. It allows the OCdts to understand and exercise the principles of military leadership and the importance of following orders. The different ranks will also expose OCdts to various levels of responsibility and leadership, giving them practical experience in decision-making and team management. Through this structure, OCdts refine their leadership skills and character and are better prepared to meet the high standards expected of RBAF officers.
