RIMBA, 23 November 2019 – The Log Race event is one of the most physical events and first-ever Officer Cadet School ever done. It plays an important part in the development of leadership amongst officer cadets. The event aims to further enhances the foundation of teamwork and the ‘will to win’.
All three platoons of Intake 18 participated in the race alongside with their respective officers and instructors. Each platoon was given two logs to carry and bring along their respective flags for the whole 21 kilometers at Air Force Base, Rimba. The officer cadets were put to the test in their ability to command and driven motivation to arrive at every checkpoint within a certain time of period. Their physical fitness level, determination, and mental strength were also analyzed during the race. The first to kick-off at 0620h was Platoon 1, followed by Platoon 3 and Platoon 2 with a gap of 15 minutes. All platoons managed to finish the race at an average of 3 hours.
The event ended with a prize presentation handed by the Guest of Honor, Major Khairul Faizin bin Hj Abdul Gapar, the Intake Commander of Officer Cadet School. 2nd runner up was Platoon 2 with a time of 3 hours and 15 minutes. The winner for this race with a time of 2 hours and 56 minutes goes to Platoon 3 and Platoon 1. This shows their level competitiveness and physical strength were beyond expectations.
