TANAH JAMBU, Wednesday, 03 November 2021 – A handover ceremony between the outgoing School Sergeant Major (SSM), WO1 Rozain bin Hj Punggut and the incoming SSM, WO1 Hj Rudy Eyan Radziddillah bin Hj Bidin, was held at the Lecture Theater, Officer Cadet School Defence Academy Royal Brunei Armed Forces (OCS DA RBAF) today. In line with the Ministry of Health’s COVID-19 control measures and guidelines, the ceremony was witnessed virtually by Lt Col Pg Siti Khatamalzariah bte Pg Hj Kamaludin, Commanding Officer of OCS. It was also virtually participated by Major Pg Hj Razif bin Pg Hj Idros, Second in Command of OCS, Officers and Staff of OCS.The ceremony commenced with the recitation of Surah Al-Fatihah led by Ustaz Abdul Nasir Saufi bin Hassan, Academy’s Religious Teacher. Followed by a farewell speech by the outgoing SSM and signing of parchments. The outgoing SSM expressed his highest gratitude and appreciation for the amazing journey he had in OCS. He then handed over the pace stick to the new SSM.
The ceremony continued with a speech from the new SSM where he mentioned that he will continue making positive changes to OCS in order meet the CO’s intent. He emphasised that the instructors must all be brave to advise and correct the people under their leadership as Officer Cadets that they lead will one day become leaders themselves. The event then concluded with Do’a Selamat and Tolak Bala.
