TANAH JAMBU, Defence Academy, Thursday 17 June 2021 – Today marks a new milestone for the Intake 20 of the Officer Cadet School (OCS) as the end of Generic Term Parade took place at the Parade Square of the Defence Academy, Tanah Jambu.
The Parade were divided into 3 contingents led by the Parade Commander, 1071 Cpt Md Azmi bin Abd Latif. Present as the Guest of Honour is the Intake Commander of OCS, 823 Maj (U) Md Yusra bin Awg Jaafar.
The event commenced with the reporting from the Parade Commander and followed by the inspection of the Parade by the Guest of Honor. The objective of the Parade was not only to commemorate the completion of the Generic Term but is also to expose and prepare Officer Cadets for their next upcoming Parades.
The Parade was then continued with a speech by the Guest of Honor where he highlighted that Officer Cadets have successfully completed the 20 weeks long of the Generic Term and is already halfway through the course. He also emphasised on Integrity, one of the value that Officer Cadets should instill within themselves. The Generic Term had covered a holistic and wide range of basic, tactical and intensive lessons where Officer Cadets were exposed to numerous military exercises and trainings. Islamic religious knowledge were also the prerequisite and mandatory lessons that Officer Cadets had to complete. This is to ensure that the OCS will produce well rounded officers that will own virtuous leadership traits as well as knowledgeable and literate in the matter of religion. The Generic term had also focused on developing intellectual, traits and characters that RBAF Officers should possess. This is also to prepare Officer Cadets for their upcoming Special to Service (STS) Term where Officer Cadets will undergo trainings in their respective units for another three months before entering the final term of the course.
The End of Generic Term Parade concluded with a march pass led by the Parade Commander and accompanied by Contingent Commanders; 1 Platoon led by 54069 OCdt Aabed Zul-Fadhlee bin Hj Abd Hamid, 2 Platoon led by 22138 OCdt (U) Dk Rabiatuladawiah binti Pg Radzuan and 3 Platoon led by 54067 OCdt (U) Md Fauzi Al Khairi bin Awg Hj Jeludin with 54091 OCdt Ak Md Qamarussalihin bin Pg Md Saifuddin as the Parade’s Cadet Staff Sergeant.
