DEFENCE ACADEMY, TANAH JAMBU, Monday, 21 December 2021 – A sharing session by the Guest of Honor 768 Lieutenant Colonel Pg Siti Khatamalzariah Bte Pg Haji Kamaludin, Commanding Officer of Officer Cadet School Intake 20 on Leadership took place earlier today at the Auditorium, Defence Academy.
She shared her knowledge and experiences on the qualities a military leader ought to have in particular on the ability to inspire, deliver, and lead by example. She emphasised that leadership is an art and science of leading self, team and organisation towards achieving a desired goal whilst basing it on the Malay Islamic Monarchy concept.
In addition, the Commanding Officer mentioned several attributes that leaders should instil in themselves such as discipline, decision making skills, competency, physical fitness, communication skills and mental agility. Before the session ended, she opened the floor for a question-and-answer session. She highlighted the importance of always remembering Allah in anything they do. ‘The best amongst you are those who have the best manners and character’ was quoted from the hadith of Prophet Muhammad S.A.W as the ending remarks for the session.
