TANAH JAMBU, Friday, 12 March 2021 - By the consent of His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien Sa’adul Khairi Waddien, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam, 83 probationary officer cadets have been appointed as officer cadets. The appointment ceremony was held at the Ceremonial Hall of the Defence Academy Royal Brunei Armed Forces (DA RBAF), Kampong Tanah Jambu.Present as the Guest of Honour and to award the insignias was Major General (U) Dato Seri Pahlawan Haji Hamzah bin Haji Sahat, Commander of the Royal Brunei Armed Forces (RBAF). In attendance were officers and staff of the Ministry of Defence and RBAF and parents of the newly appointed Officer Cadets.
A total of 83 Officer Cadets, 53 males and 30 females, had been selected through the Armed Forces Commissioning Board and reported to the Officer Cadet School on 26 January 2021. Over the past six weeks, the officer cadets went through Basic Military Training, consisting of drills, physical fitness, fieldcraft, map reading, leadership and management, and others. The officer cadets will now embark on the next 46 weeks of more rigorous and intensive training to develop them into high-quality officers in leadership, knowledge and character.
Commander Haji Ainolnizam bin Haji Ibrahim, RBN, the Head of the RBAF Religious Department, recited a Doa Selamat to bless the ceremony and concluded with a group photo session with the Guest of Honour.
