BAYONET FIGHTING TRAINING FOR INTAKE 23 OFFICER CADETS

TANAH JAMBU, Saturday, 25 May 2024 – The Bayonet Fighting Training for Officer Cadets (OCdts) of Intake 23 culminated in a rigorous session held at the compound of the Officer Cadet School, DA RBAF. The training aimed to hone the officer cadets' close combat skills and instill in them the fundamentals of bayonet techniques, laying a strong foundation for future combat readiness.

Throughout the training, the OCdts were immersed in a series of lessons encompassing the proper handling and utilisation of bayonets in various combat scenarios. They learned essential techniques such as thrusting, parrying, and bayonet charges, enhancing their ability to engage in hand-to-hand combat effectively. Additionally, emphasis was placed on maintaining discipline and focus under pressure, crucial attributes for success on the battlefield. The cadets faced real combat challenges where they had to fulfill their soldier duties even when all odds were working against them.

The culmination of the bayonet training session marked a significant achievement for the OCdts of Intake 23, underscoring their dedication, resilience, and unwavering commitment to their military training. The invaluable experience gained from the training will undoubtedly serve them well as they progress in their military careers, equipping them with the skills and confidence necessary to face the challenges ahead.
