OFFICER CADET SCHOOL (OCS) INTAKE 22 CONDUCTED COLORS AND SWORD DRILL LESSON

TANAH JAMBU, Friday, 28 July 2023 - The Officer Cadets (OCdts) of Intake 22 conducted their Colors and Sword Drill training earlier today. The training aims to teach and prepare Officer Cadets for their Color and Swords drill upon their commission. It also aims to reinforce the Officer Cadets to be disciplined and to excel as leaders in ceremonial settings.

The training was conducted by Officers and Instructors, both theoretically and practically, at the Lecture Hall and Parade Square of the Defence Academy Royal Brunei Armed Forces, respectively.

The theoretical lessons covered the basics of flag handling including the sacred and traditional flag handling ceremonies. Afterwards, the OCdts had the opportunity to learn the basics of flag handling and sword drills with replica flags and swords, which function identically with the actual items. The training is conducive for their upcoming Sovereign’s Parade and future duties in ceremonial and official events in the future.

Although short, the training is a significant milestone in shaping exceptional military leaders out of the OCdts and emphasising their character development by instilling qualities such as integrity, resilience, and a profound sense of duty as future military leaders of the Royal Brunei Armed Forces.
