TANAH JAMBU, Monday, 21 February 2022 – A significant sharing session was held today for Probationary Officer Cadets of Intake 21 with the Commander of Royal Brunei Armed Forces (RBAF) Major General (U) Dato Seri Pahlawan Haji Hamzah bin Haji Sahat. Present alongside were Chief of Staff RBAF, Director of Personnel, Head of Judge Advocate of RBAF, Commandant of Defence Academy RBAF, Commanding Officer of Officer Cadet School, Officers and Probationary Officer Cadets of Intake 21. It took place at the Auditorium, Defence Academy and conducted in compliance with the guidelines stipulated by Ministry of Health.
In his session, the Commander of RBAF emphasized the main points being: improve and maintain discipline as a military personnel and as a future leader in order to lead by example, importance of five daily prayers, to instill spiritual element in everyday life, and to always be sincere in conducting their duties.
Yang Mulia Dato also mentioned about security in the RBAF, where all new officers should be cautious in sharing any type of information to avoid unnecessary over-sharing. In addition to that, some pertinent issues in the RBAF were touched namely disturbance in work particularly on sexual harassment. To combat this, the Commander of RBAF advised the future officers to be aware and avoid this unethical behavior by always remembering Allah and to never leave the daily obligatory prayers.
One key take-away point that Yang Mulia Dato stated was to “Leave a good footprint or legacy wherever you are posted into”, by observing what needs to be improved and finding the initiative to make productive alterations. The session was then concluded with the recital of Doa Penutup and protection against COVID-19 led by Lt (U) Muhammad Shah Redzuan bin Haji Mat Serudin, Platoon Commander of Officer Cadet School, DA RBAF.
