TANAH JAMBU, Monday, 29 May 2023 – Officer Cadet School conducted an intensive survival training program for its Officer Cadets (OCdts) of Intake 22 today at the Defence Academy Royal Brunei Armed Forces (DA RBAF). The program aims to equip the cadets with essential skills and knowledge to survive and adapt in challenging environments.
The training, under the guidance of experienced Officers and Instructors, consists of a combination of theoretical lectures held in the lecture hall at Defence Academy, followed by practical applications in the Jungle Training Area.
During the theoretical sessions, cadets received comprehensive instruction on various survival techniques. Topics covered include the slaughtering of animals, survival tin and fire making, water procurement and fishing methods, types of shelter construction, animals and water traps, and the slaughter and preparation of chicken. The OCdts had the opportunity to put their theoretical knowledge into practice in the Jungle Training Area.
The extensive experience enabled the OCdts to develop resilience, self-sufficiency, and the ability to adapt to harsh environments. The survival training program demonstrates Officer Cadet School’s commitment to providing comprehensive and practical education to its officer cadets.
