DEFENCE ACADEMY, TANAH JAMBU, Monday, 20 December 2021 – The Officer Cadets of Intake 20 from the Officer Cadet School (OCS) had an afternoon talk session with few representatives from the second battalion of the Royal Brunei Armed Force (RBAF). The sharing session focused on the Non-Commissioned Officers’ (NCOs) perspective towards leadership.

The session was led by 17065 Cpl Markedilla bin Markamdi and 19039 Cpl Abdul Haziq bin Bohari. They touched on the reality of the working environment and shared their experiences in leading troops out for patrolling along the Brunei Darussalam’s border.

Some key take-outs from his speech towards Officer Cadets are to be positive minded, be responsible, and be more effective in delivering tasks. The NCOs has also emphasised that the Officer Cadets of intake 20 should have self-determination and core values within themselves in order for them to strike for excellence. These perspectives are very helpful as an eye opener to the Intake 20 of the Officer Cadets on the reality and their ability after their first appointment.

Finally, the session was concluded with the discussion between the representatives of NCOs and Officer Cadets on various aspects from office matters up to on ground duties.
