TANAH JAMBU, Saturday, 07 January 2023 – Officer Cadet School Defence Academy Royal Brunei Armed Forces (OCS DA RBAF) held a Khatam Al-Quran ceremony this afternoon at Surau Asy-Syuhada’ DA RBAF in conjunction with the upcoming Sovereign’s Parade of Officer Cadets of Intake 21.
Present as the guest of honour was Col Pg Sharifuddin bin Pg Hj Yusof, Commandant of DA RBAF. Also present during the ceremony were senior officers, officers, sergeant majors, staff of OCS DA RBAF as well as the officer cadets of Intake 21.
Brunei Darussalam is a nation that follows the Melayu Islam Beraja philosophy, through the recitation and appreciation of the Al-Quran, this would increase the spiritual level of each personnel and to realize and emphasize that they belong to a Negara Zikir country. From the Officer Cadet’s School’s core value, taqwa or piety acts as a platform to enhance the officer cadet’s knowledge on Islamic values.
The Khatam Al-Quran ceremony began with the recitation of Surah Al-Fatihah, followed by Khatam Al-Quran recitation, Takhtim, Do’a Khatam Al-Quran, Dikir Marhaban and Do’a Peliharakan Sultan which was led by officer cadets of Intake 21. The ceremony then concluded with a mass Asr prayer, and a group photo session.
