
BERAKAS GARRISON,Thursday, 30 November 2023 – In a noteworthy achievement, Officer Cadet School, Defence Academy of Royal Brunei Armed Forces, Intake 22, successfully completed their intensive two-week course on Range Management Qualification. This comprehensive program equipped the Officer Cadets (OCdts) with the necessary skills to effectively manage shooting ranges and serve as competent Range Officers.
Throughout the course, OCdts underwent rigorous training in live firing practices, utilizing live rounds and engaging targets spanning from 100m to 300m. Emphasis was placed on safety protocols, with cadets delivering thorough safety briefs as part of the 9 Sequence before commencing shooting exercises. Mastery of these sequences became paramount for each OCdt, ensuring a secure and efficient execution of live firing practices.
The pinnacle of the training culminated in assessments for Live Firing 4 (zeroing and confirmation) and Live Firing 7 (APWT – Annual Personal Weapon Test). These assessments served as a crucial measure to determine the OCdts’ qualifications for the esteemed role of Range Officer, validating their proficiency and readiness for such a significant responsibility. This accomplishment stands as a testament to the dedication and competence of Intake 22 of Officer Cadet School.
