DEFENCE ACADEMY, TANAH JAMBU, 22 November 2022 – Twenty-three (23) Officer Cadets of Intake 21 were presented with their respective rank insignias today at the Final Rank Appointment Ceremony at the Officer Cadet School (OCS) Mess Hall. The rank insignias were presented by the Guest of Honour, Intake Commander of OCS Intake 21, Lieutenant Commander Muhamad Adib Izzuddin bin Haji Ramli, RBN. Also present were each respective Platoon Commanders, Intake Sergeant Major, and instructors of OCS.
The event commenced with the recitation of Surah Al-Fatihah followed by the officiating of the rank appointments by the Guest of Honour. Three (3) Officer Cadets were promoted to Cadet Platoon Sergeants, nine (9) were promoted to Cadet Corporals and another nine (9) were promoted to Cadet Lance Corporals.
Two new rank appointments were also introduced which were the Cadet Sergeant Major (CSM) and Cadet Staff Sergeant (CSS) that were presented to 54421 OCdt Awang Muhammad Asyraf bin Haji Ag. Amin and 54420 OCdt (U) Abdul Qawie bin Abidin, respectively.
The system of Officer Cadet Rank Appointment enables Officer Cadets to learn the duties connected with the various appointments within a Platoon on an administrative plane and to further develop their character and leadership traits in the process of discharging the duties.
With the appointments, the Officer Cadets will be able to gain valuable experience and take responsibilities for carrying out their duties and making a significant impact within the Intake and ultimately to the RBAF in the near future.
