TANAH JAMBU, DEFENCE ACADEMY, Wednesday, 01 September 2021 – Twenty Officer Cadets of OCS Intake 20, received their rank insignias today at the Officer Cadet Mess Hall of Officer Cadet School. The insignias were presented by the Intake Commander of OCS, Yang Mulia 823 Major (U) Muhammad Yusra bin Awang Jafar, as the Guest of Honour of the event.
Also present were the 2IC of OCS and Platoon Commander of the intake. This event was a unique one as it was held under the circumstances of everyone involved had to adhere to the strict rules and regulations imposed by the Ministry of Health with regards to the recent 2nd wave outbreak of COVID-19. This was evident as wearing of face mask and social distancing were done as part of the safety precautions taken to curb the spread of the COVID-19 virus itself.
The event began with the recitation of Surah Al-Fatihah, followed by the presentation of the rank insignia by the Guest of Honour. Two (02) Officer Cadets were promoted to Cadet Platoon Sergeants, while nine (09) were promoted to Cadet Corporals and the other nine (09) to Cadet Lance Corporals. The rank appointment gave the Officer Cadets the chance to put forward what they have learned on being a leader into practice. Other than that, this serves as a platform for them to further enhance their decision-making skills which is vital in propelling themselves forward In RBAF.
