
TANAH JAMBU, Friday, 27 January 2023 – In conjunction with the Sovereign’s Parade of Intake 21 Officer Cadet School (OCS), the newly Commissioned Officers hosted a Regimental Graduation Dinner at the Ceremonial Hall, Defence Academy Royal Brunei Armed Forces (DA RBAF).
Present as the Guest of Honor was Yang Mulia Brigadier General (Rtd) Dato Seri Pahlawan Haji Abdul Razak bin Haji Abd. Kadir, Deputy Minister of Defence. Also present were Major General Dato Paduka Seri Haji Muhammad Haszaimi bin Bol Hassan, the Commander of RBAF, Services Commanders, Joint Force Commander, Senior Officers, Officers and Newly Commissioned Officers of Intake 21.
The Deputy Minister of Defence was welcomed by the Newly Commissioned Officers and the respective guests before proceeding with the dinner and a symphonic diversion by the RBAF band.
As part of the Graduation Dinner tradition, a Pipe Major’s march in the dining area was held. A sharing session was conducted after the pipers’ march between the Pipe Major and the Guest of Honour. a speech was conveyed by 1539 Lieutenant Awang Muhammad Asyraf bin Haji Awang Amin, the Sword of Honour recipient. He mentioned the importance of resilience and to always remember the purpose on why they joined OCS in the beginning and to maintain their discipline throughout their journey as Officers. The aim of the Graduation Dinner is to instill and maintain the regimental culture in the RBAF and also to thank the officers involved in guiding and mentoring the newly commissioned Officers to become competent and resilient future leaders.
The purpose of the Graduation Dinner is to honor the Officer Cadets’ of Intake 21 for completing the 48-weeks rigorous Cadetship course.
A recitation of the closing doa to conclude the Graduation Dinner was followed by both the Deputy Minister of Defence and the Commander of the RBAF being invited to conduct the RBAF band followed by the signing of parchment by the Guest of Honour. The event was then concluded with a group photo session.
