TANAH JAMBU, Monday, 17 January 2022 – A total of 81 newly commissioned officers of Intake 20 received their certificates to mark the completion of the courses offered in Officer Cadet School Defence Academy Royal Brunei Armed Forces (OCS DA RBAF).
Present as the Guest of Honour was Colonel Pengiran Sharifuddin bin Pengiran Haji Yusof, the Commandant of DA RBAF. Also present were Senior Officers, Officers and newly commissioned Officers of intake 20.
The occasion initiated with the recitation of the Surah Al-Fatihah and verses from the Surah Al-Baqarah from 30 to 34 alongside the interpretation of the verses by the recipient of the Sword of Honour, 1481 Lieutenant Awangku Mohammad Qamarussalihin bin Pengiran Muhammad Saifuddin.
The ceremony proceeded with an opening speech by 928 Lieutenant Commander Adib Izzuddin bin Haji Ramli, RBN, Intake Commander of Intake 20, highlighting the accomplishments of the officers throughout their training in OCS commencing from 28 January 2021 until 13 January 2022. The officers of Intake 20 undertook several military courses namely Service Writing, Service Fund and Range Management Qualification (RMQ) and added value for the newly commissioned officers’ skills and capabilities that enhances their personal career development in the RBAF.
The certificate presentation was followed by the book prize presentation, presented by the Guest of Honour, to the award winners of Intake 20; 1481 Lieutenant Awangku Mohammad Qamarussalihin bin Pengiran Muhammad Saifuddin (Sword of Honour), 1455 Lieutenant Junior Grade Nurharzelah@Nurfarzelah binti Yakub (Best Academic), 1515 Lieutenant (U) Dayangku Rabiatuladawiah@Sarimah binti Pengiran Redzuan (Best Military Skills) and 1460 Lieutenant Aabed Zul-Fadhlee bin Haji Abdul Hamid (Best Physical Fitness).
OCS DA RBAF aims to develop the qualities of leadership, character and intellect demanded of an RBAF Officer on first appointment. The training has subsequently produced quality military officers in the RBAF equipped with critical thinking and problem-solving skills whilst upholding the core values of the organisation.
