
BRUNEI MUARA, Friday, 6 October 2023 – The Officer Cadet School of Intake 22 will be collaborating with the Singapore Armed Forces Training Institute Military Institute (SAFTI MI) for another urban warfare training under the Urban Operations Training Package (UOTP) that will be held at the SAFTI MI. The training will provide officer cadets with the opportunity to practice their routine in different environment as well as to foster and enhance collaboration between DA RBAF and SAFTI MI in maintaining and improving training particularly on officer cadet for the benefit of both Armed Forces.
Prior to the departure, parents were invited to the Officers Cadet School Defence Academy Royal Brunei Armed Forces for a short briefing by the Commanding Officer Lieutenant Colonel (U) Pengiran Haji Muhammad Yusri Bin Pengiran Haji Sharifuddin on the training programme. A short video showcasing the training the Officer Cadets have completed the past months was also shared, before the floor was offered for any further questions and clarifications. The Officer Cadets were allowed time with their families before leaving for the Air Movement Centre (AMC), Rimba Air Force Base.
The training under the UOTP will equip the Officer Cadets with a new training ground and grant them the opportunity to train alongside Officer Cadets from SAFTI MI. It will further challenge their confidence skill, their command and leadership skills, as well as test their knowledge in conducting a platoon level urban warfare operations. The three-week training programme will be an invaluable experience for the Officer Cadets as they approach the end of their Special-To- Service Term.
