DEFENCE ACADEMY, TANAH JAMBU, 25 May 2022 – Eighteen (18) newly appointed Officer Cadets had received their respective rank insignias this morning at the second appointment ceremony in the Officer Cadet School Mess Hall. Present to award the insignias was Lieutenant Commander Muhammad Adib Izzuddin bin Haji Ramli, RBN, Intake Commander of Officer Cadet School. Also in attendance were the Second in Command of Intake Commander, Platoon Commander, Intake Sergeant Major and instructors.
The recitation of Surah Al-Fatihah marks the start of the event. The newly appointed officer cadet were promoted to nine (9) Cadet Corporals and nine (9) Cadet Lance Corporals where they were given their own set of responsibilities and duties. This is the role entrusted both to the Cadet Corporal and Cadet Lance Corporal as it enables Officer Cadets to learn and work with the various appointments within the Platoon such as on an administrative plane.
The Officer Cadets will be able to gain experience to take responsibility as a leader in performing their duties and making a significant impact towards the intake and ultimately to the RBAF. The system of officer cadet appointment holders provides another opportunity for the officer cadets to be trained in leadership and administration.
