TANAH JAMBU, Officer Cadet School, Defence Academy, Saturday 11 September 2021 – The Officer Cadets of Officer Cadet School (OCS) Intake 20 held their first game show, ‘Countdown: Numbers’ inspired by the 90s British game show involving word and number tasks. However, the OCS 20’s version only involved number tasks. The event took place at the Lecture Theatre, OCS HQ. The event was organised by the Treasurers of Intake 20 Mess Committee; 22126 OCdt Raheemah binti Jeffry and 22135 OCdt (U) Dyg Nur Aminatul ‘Aziemah Azreen binti Awg Hj Mohd Hasreen.There were nine participants altogether, and each platoon gave their three best representatives to present. Due to the current pandemic COVID-19, the game show was conducted through a virtual context, Zoom. The Guest of Honour was 823 Maj (U) Muhd Yusra bin Awg Jafar, the Intake Commander of OCS, and the Second in Command of Intake Commander, along with the Intake Officers and Officer Cadets of Intake 20.
The aim of the event was to test the mathematical ability of the officer cadets and at the same time, testing their critical thinking under duress. 1 Platoon won the best platoon, followed by 2 Platoon and 3 Platoon. All teams portrayed their best mathematical skills and their ability to work under pressure. The event was concluded with the recital of prayers and photo session.
