INDERA SAMUDERA, Wednesday 6 November 2019 – Midshipmen of Intake 18 were invited to attend the farewell dinner in conjunction with Pelican Exercise at The Empire Hotel and Country Club. Present during the dinner were Yang Berhormat Pehin Datu Lailaraja Retired Major General Dato Paduka Seri Haji Awang Halbi bin Haji Mohd Yussof, Second Minister of Defence and His Excellency Dr Ng Eng Hen, Minister of Defence of the Republic of Singapore, Major General Pengiran Dato Paduka Seri Aminan bin Pengiran Haji Mahmud, Commander of Royal Brunei Armed Forces and First Admiral Dato Seri Pahlawan Haji Othman bin Hj Suhaili @ Suhaily, Commander of Navy, alumni of Pelican Exercise, senior officers, officers, personnel and officer cadets of Intake 18.

 
The night highlights how importance ‘Forging Friendship’ between the two nations that has been established since 1979 and aims to sustain the relationship for more years to come especially amongst the future leaders of both armed forces. During the reception, numerous videos were played, which showcased the history of the Pelican exercise and the recent interactions between midshipmen of Brunei and Singapore. 
 
In addition to participating in Exercise Pelican, the RSN and RBN also work together regularly through a variety of activities, such as professional exchange programmes, which are claimed to strengthen the bonds between the personnel of both navies.
