ac4.jpgTANAH JAMBU, Thursday, 14 March 2019 – Appointment ceremony for the Probationary Officer Cadet of Intake 18 was held today at the Ceremonial Hall of the Defence Academy Royal Brunei Armed Forces (DA RBAF), Tanah Jambu. By the consent of His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien Sa’adul Khairi Waddien, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam, 82 Probationary Officer Cadets were appointed to be  Officer Cadets. Present to award the new insignias was the Commander of the RBAF, Yang Mulia Major General Pengiran Dato Paduka Seri Aminan bin Pengiran Haji Mahmud.

The newly appointed 82 Officer Cadets consists of 47 Officer Cadets who will join the Royal Brunei Land Force including 1 recipient of the Supreme Commander Royal Brunei Armed Forces Scholarship, 21 Officer Cadets will join the Royal Brunei Navy and 14 Officer Cadets will join the Royal Brunei Air Force.

The 82 Officer cadets that have been selected to undergo 52 weeks intense training in OCS where the officer cadets’ Military Leadership, character and intellect will be developed to prepare them for their first appointment as newly commissioned officers in the RBAF. Upon successful completion of their training, the officer cadets will graduate in the Sovereign’s Parade in January 2020. For the past six weeks, the officer cadets went through basic militarization before they embark on a further 46 weeks of rigorous and intense training.

In attendance at the appointment ceremony were the Services Commanders, Military Directors, Commandants, Senior officers, officers and staff of the DA RBAF along with family members of the officer cadets.

To bless the ceremony, Doa Selamat was recited by the Head of the RBAF Religious Department (JAMA’AT), Commander Haji Ainolnizam bin Haji Ibrahim, RBN. The event concluding with a group photo session with the guest of honour.
