​MULTI MISSION RANGE COMPLEX, TUESDAY, 22 October 2024 – In the first week of the Urban Operations Training Package (UOTP), the Officer Cadets (OCdts) of Intake 23 attended lessons at the Singapore Armed Forces Training Institute Military Institute (SAFTI MI) focused on the Singapore Assault Rifle 21 (SAR21), which was designed and manufactured in Singapore. The OCdts received lessons on weapon handling, assembly and disassembly within a time limit, and Immediate Action (IA) drills. These lessons were essential for the OCdts to qualify for their SAR21 qualification shoot at the Multi Mission Range Complex (MMRC) in Pasir Laba Camp, Singapore. The objective of these lessons and the qualification shoot was to ensure that the OCdts were properly trained in order to operate a different weapon system, thereby enhancing their confidence in weapon handling, shooting skills, and understanding of the rifle’s mechanics. The lessons and qualification shoot were conducted and assisted by the instructors and OCdts from Delta Wing of SAFTI MI.
