MUARA, FRIDAY, 14 NOVEMBER 2025 - The Midshipmen of Officer Cadet School (OCS) Intake 24 concluded their Special-To-Service (STS) Term during a closing ceremony held at the Serasa Watermanship Complex, Royal Brunei Armed Forces. The event marked the end of three-month specialised naval training phase that began on 18 August 2025.
Present as the Guest of Honour at the event was Commander Pengiran Haji Khairul Anwar bin Pengiran Dr Haji Abu Bakar, RBN, Commanding Officer of KDB DARUSSALAM. Also present were officers from Royal Brunei Navy (RBN) and OCS, instructors from Brunei Engineering, Logistics and Training Solutions (BELTS), and staff from Naval Training Centre. In his address, the Guest of Honour highlighted the importance of applying the knowledge, discipline and seamanship skills acquired throughout the STS term, emphasising that these foundations would guide the Midshipmen as they progress towards becoming capable and professional Naval Officers.
Throughout the STS Term, the Midshipmen underwent rigorous programme of naval academic and practical seamanship. They strengthen their skills through navigation exercises using the Full Mission Bridge Simulator (FMBS). This STS phase equipped the Midshipmen with essential maritime knowledge, enhanced confidence in operating naval platform and instilled the operational mindset needed to serve effectively in an increasingly complex maritime environment.
