TANAH JAMBU, THURSDAY, 23 JANUARY 2025 - With the completion of their Commissioning Course, the Officer
Cadets of Intake 23 celebrated their pinnacle of achievement with the
annual Sovereign's Parade. A total of 52 Officer Cadets (39 Male
Officers and 13 Female Officers) consisting of 25 Land Forces Officer
Cadets, 17 Navy Midshipmen, 9 Airforce Officer Cadets and 1
international Officer were commissioned during the prestigious ceremony
held at the Parade Square of the Defence Academy, Royal Brunei Armed
Forces (DA RBAF) in Kampong Tanah Jambu.
His
Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu'izzaddin Waddaulah ibni
Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar 'Ali Saifuddien Sa'adul Khairi Waddien,
Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam graced the Sovereign's
Parade ceremony, commencing the event with a presentation of the royal
salute to His Majesty.
Accompanying
His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam was His
Royal Highness Prince Haji Al-Muhtadee Billah, the Crown Prince and
Senior Minister at the Prime Minister’s Office.
The event resumed with a
parade inspection, followed with a march-past presentation by the
Officer Cadets, commanded by 1201 Captain Nursazwilla binti Rosdie.
After delivering his titah,
His Majesty then presented the prestigious Sword of Honour to Officer
Cadet Nor Azwar Zuwairey bin Haji Norshamli. The award is the highest
award bestowed to an officer cadet and symbolise excellence in all
aspects of training.
His Majesty then presented
the Best Academic Award to Officer Cadet Dayangku Nur Muta’wakillah
binti Pengiran Haji Mohd Ali based on the cadet’s outstanding overall
academic results throughout the training. This was followed by the
presentation of the Best Military Skills Award to Officer Cadet Muhd
Nizam Saadudin bin Mohd. Yusof, RBN, based on the cadet’s excellence in
all areas of military skills; and lastly the Best in Physical Training
Award to Officer Cadet (U) Muhd Irfan Affendy bin Muhd Eddy Rizwan
Affendy as a recognition to the cadet’s remarkable achievement in
physical training.
The event continued with a
junjung ziarah with the newly-commissioned officers and their families,
followed with a group photo session, concluding the event.
