PENANJONG GARRISON, Sunday, 17th November 2024 - In a significant step forward, in enhancing the combat readiness and operational skills of future military leaders, a live firing exercise was successfully conducted for the Land Force Officer Cadets (OCdts) of Intake 23 at Field Firing Area (FFA), Binturan Range, Penanjong Garrison.
The exercise is designed to provide practical, hands-on training with live ammunition and is a vital component of the OCdt’s ongoing military education and leadership development. The exercise gives the OCdt’s the opportunity to apply their theoretical knowledge in real-world situations, sharpen their shooting accuracy, and develop confidence in their weapon handling skills. More importantly, it instills the discipline and focus required to make critical decisions under pressure. The exercise also provided an opportunity to reinforce teamwork, communication, and leadership—key attributes that will serve the OCdt’s as they advance to commissioned officer status.
The successful completion of the exercise marks another milestone in their development as military leaders, reinforcing the critical importance of live firing training in fostering a generation of well-prepared, capable officers.
