OFFICER CADET SCHOOL HOLDS SIGNING BAF 122 FOR INTAKE 23

TANAH JAMBU, Wednesday, 14 February 2024 – The Signing Ceremony of BAF 122 for 55 Probationary Officer Cadets of Intake 23, Officer Cadet School (OCS) was held today at the Auditorium of Defence Academy Royal Brunei Armed Forces (DA RBAF), Kampung Tanah Jambu. Present as the Guest of Honour was the Commandant of DA RBAF, Yang Mulia Colonel Pengiran Sharifuddin bin Pengiran Haji Yusof. Also in attendance to witness the ceremony were the DA RBAF senior officers, officers and the parents of the Probationary Officer Cadets.

The Signing Ceremony started with an opening remark by the Guest of Honour. It was highlighted during his speech that the Probationary Officer Cadets need to be competent in their field, mature, resilient and courageous as a future leader. He also mentioned that the training and lessons taught will prepare them to face any challenges in a complex and uncertain environment.  In addition, he hopes that with all the lessons, training and experience they will gather in OCS will shape their identity and finally contribute to RBAF as an Officer once they are commissioned.

The ceremony proceeded with an oath by the Probationary Officer Cadets led by 17305 SSgt Mohammad Noorsalehan bin Ali Safari and followed by the signing of the BAF 122. The 38 male and 17 female Probationary Officer Cadets will undergo 6 weeks of basic military training phase.

The Commissioning Course is a 48 weeks course split into 3 terms consisting of generic term, special-to-service term and final term. This course is designed to develop the Officer Cadets' leadership, character and intellect in order for them to be ready for their first appointment as RBAF Officer.
