CIRCUIT TRAINING IN CONJUNCTION OF 14TH OFFICER CADET SCHOOL ROYAL BRUNEI ARMED FORCES ANNIVERSARY

TANAH JAMBU, Sunday, 28 August 2022 – This year marks the Officer Cadet School Defence Academy Royal Brunei Armed Forces (OCS DA RBAF), 14th anniversary since it was inaugurated on 26 August 2008. Since its inception in 2008, the OCS has provided training that is professional, rigorous and disciplined for the development of potential young officers.

To commemorate the 14th OCS DA RBAF anniversary, the Officer Cadet of intake 21 organised a circuit training session this morning at the Parade Square, DA RBAF consisting of 14 exercises.

The exercises were coordinated by 54420 Ocdt (U) Abdul Qawie bin Abidin, 54431 OCdt Addi Syafi Pong bin Muhd Haafizh Shah, 54435 OCdt Mohammad Amir bin Haji Awang Shahari, 22217 OCdt (U) Nur Hazirah binti Haji Mohd Aisa and 22219 OCdt (U) Hjh Anis Sabrinaa binti Haji Yahya.

The 14 exercises range from upper body to lower body exercises which were selected to target the 5 major components of fitness namely Cardiovascular endurance, Muscular strength, Muscular endurance, Flexibility and Body composition. These 5 components of fitness are deemed to be important for the overall fitness required of an Officer Cadet. The related components help to maintain a healthy body weight, prevent injury, increases energy level, improved muscle tone as well as to improve body posture and acts as a stress reliever. The 14 exercises were carried out in sets of three focusing on different parts of the body; core, upper body and lower body respectively, and each exercise was executed for 21 repetitions which represent Intake 21.

The event concluded with a Zumba cooling down session headed by 22211 OCdt Rosamunira binti Awang Roslan with the aim to recover their heart rate back to normal on a bright note.
