TANAH JAMBU, Friday, 22 March 2024 - By the consent of His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu'izzaddin Waddaulah ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Omar 'Ali Saifuddien Sa'adu Khairi Waddien, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam, 56 probationary officer cadets have been appointed as officer cadets.

TANAH JAMBU, Wednesday, 20 March 2024 – Today marked the end of the six-week basic military training for the Probationary Officer Cadets (POCdts) of Intake 23. The six-weeks program is a militarization phase which enables the POCdts to manage themselves and transition to a military lifestyle.

TANAH JAMBU, Friday 08 March 2024 - The closing ceremony of the Instructor's Cadre was held today at the Airforce Room, Officer Cadet School, Defence Academy Royal Brunei Armed Forces (OCS DA RBAF). Present as the Guest of Honour was Lieutenant Colonel (U) Pg Hj Md Yusri bin Pg Hj Sharifuddin, Commanding Officer OCS, DA RBAF. Also in attendance were Deputy Commanding Officer, Training Officer and School Sergeant Major from OCS.

TANAH JAMBU, Wednesday, 14 February 2024 – The Signing Ceremony of BAF 122 for 55 Probationary Officer Cadets of Intake 23, Officer Cadet School (OCS) was held today at the Auditorium of Defence Academy Royal Brunei Armed Forces (DA RBAF), Kampung Tanah Jambu. Present as the Guest of Honour was the Commandant of DA RBAF, Yang Mulia Colonel Pengiran Sharifuddin bin Pengiran Haji Yusof. Also in attendance to witness the ceremony were the DA RBAF senior officers, officers and the parents of the Probationary Officer Cadets.

TANAH JAMBU, Sunday, 07 January 2024 – Officer Cadets Intake 22 participated in an orienteering competition organized by 55078 MID Mohamed Syahmi Wafiq Bin Mohamed Rohaizan, RBN conducted within the Defence Academy, Royal Brunei Armed Forces. The competition was initiated with recital of Al-Fatihah by 55065 OCDT Muhammad Muizzuddin Bin Haji Talipuddin and the first whistle blown was at 1430H.

TANAH JAMBU, Friday, 05 January 2024 - The Officer Cadets (OCdts) of Intake 22 sat down for a lecture from Mr Fadhil Sulaiman, a manager and a qualified financial planner from Brunei Darussalam Central Bank (BDCB). The lecture focuses on Financial Planning using “SMART” planning and identifying different type of Financial Scams.

TANAH JAMBU, Defence Academy, Friday, 29 December 2023 - Officer Cadets of Intake 22 had a Leadership Talk session in the morning at the Lecture Theatre, Officer Cadet School Headquarters, Defence Academy, Royal Brunei Armed Forces (OCS HQ DA RBAF). The Leadership talk was delivered by Warrant Officer 1 Haji Rudy Eyan Radziddillah bin Hj Bidin, the Academy Sergeant Major (ASM) of OCS DA RBAF.

TANAH JAMBU, Thursday, 21 December 2023 - The officer cadets of Intake 22 have completed Defence Instructional Techniques (DIT) Qualification as part of the final term of their commissioning course. The training was conducted for 2 weeks by DIT qualified instructors. The first phase consists of a series of theory lessons. The officer cadets were exposed to the different instructor roles, the qualities of an instructor, method of learning; visual, audio, read/write and kinesthetic (VARK), learners skills analysis, method of using instructional aids, question and answer techniques, learners assessments, coaching, mentoring and learning.

The event was held at Surau Asy-Syuhada', Defence Academy Royal Brunei Armed Forces.

TANAH JAMBU, Friday, 15 December 2023 - A significant day for 16 Officer Cadets of Intake 22 as they received their respective rank insignias in the morning at the appointment ceremony held in the Officer Cadet School (OCS) Mess Hall 2. These rank insignias include Cadet Platoon Sergeant, Cadet Corporal, Cadet Lance Corporal and the newly appointed Cadet Sergeant Major and Assistant Cadet Sergeant Major. The ceremony was officiated by the Guest of Honour, the Commanding Officer of OCS, Lieutenant Colonel (U) Pengiran Haji Muhammad Yusri Bin Pengiran Haji Sharifuddin. Also present were the Platoon Commanders and Instructors of OCS.

TANAH JAMBU, Wednesday, 13 December 2023 – A total of 31 scholarship students from various overseas universities such as The University of New South Wales (UNSW), Sydney and Al-Azhar University, Cairo along with officers from Ministry of Education (MOE) visited Officer Cadet School Defence Academy Royal Brunei Armed Forces (OCS DA RBAF) today. The aim of the visit is to provide exposure and knowledge on the conduct of the commissioning course in OCS DA RBAF.

BERAKAS GARRISON,Thursday, 30 November 2023 - In a noteworthy achievement, Officer Cadet School, Defence Academy of Royal Brunei Armed Forces, Intake 22, successfully completed their intensive two-week course on Range Management Qualification. This comprehensive program equipped the Officer Cadets (OCdts) with the necessary skills to effectively manage shooting ranges and serve as competent Range Officers.

BRUNEI MUARA, Friday, 6 October 2023 - The Officer Cadet School of Intake 22 will be collaborating with the Singapore Armed Forces Training Institute Military Institute (SAFTI MI) for another urban warfare training under the Urban Operations Training Package (UOTP) that will be held at the SAFTI MI. The training will provide officer cadets with the opportunity to practice their routine in different environment as well as to foster and enhance collaboration between DA RBAF and SAFTI MI in maintaining and improving training particularly on officer cadet for the benefit of both Armed Forces.

BUKIT AGOK, Thursday, 21 September 2023 - The Land Force Officer Cadets (OCdts) of Intake 22 completed their Final Endeavour Exercise at Bukit Agok, Tutong. The 5-day long exercise introduced the OCdts to Defence Operations which consists of Trench Digging, conducting Patrols and building and holding Main Defensive Areas (MDA).

Monday, 11 September 2023 - The Midshipmen of Intake 22 recently completed their Basic Sea Survival Training Course to learn the basis of sea survival skills such as the proper technique of using a life jacket, the method of rescuing, actions to be made incase of emergencies and abandonment and the different types of equipment needed.

PENANJONG GARRISON, Monday, 11 September 2023 - As the Land Force Officer Cadets (OCdts) of Officer Cadet School (OCS) Intake 22 advance in their Special-to-Service term, they were involved with the Chemical Biological Radiological and Explosive Defence (CBRE) unit, a one-day lesson where OCdts learned the proper procedures and strategies the CBRE unit uses to fight against any chemical warfare agents.

TANAH JAMBU, Monday, 4 September 2023 - A total of 12 Airforce Cadets from Intake 22 were given the opportunity to participate on Wing Visits as part of their Special to Service. This covers all wings from operational, support, and training along with their corresponding squadrons, whether they are stationed on-base or off-base at locations such as Berakas Garrison, Bukit Agok, and Brunei International Airport.

BRUNEI INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT, Saturday, 02 September 2023 - Officer Cadet (Udara) Muhammad Hariz bin Haji Ahat from the Officer Cadet School (OCS) of Intake 22, Defence Academy Royal Brunei Armed Forces (DA RBAF) departed to the United Kingdom for his Modular Initial Officer Training Course ((M)IOTC), a 24-week program at Royal Air Force (RAF), Cranwell, United Kingdom. Present was 622 Lieutenant Colonel (U) Pengiran Haji Muhammad Yusri Bin Pengiran Haji Sharifuddin, the Commanding Officer of OCS DA RBAF and officers from OCS DA RBAF.

TANAH JAMBU, Friday, 25 August 2023 - Officer Cadet School Defence Academy Royal Brunei Armed Forces (OCS DA RBAF) celebrated its 15th Anniversary at Surau Asy-Syuhada’, DA RBAF. The celebration was graced by the presence of the Guest of Honour (GOH), Lieutenant Colonel (U) Pengiran Haji Muhammad Yusri Bin Pengiran Haji Sharifuddin, Commanding Officer of OCS. Alongside the attendees were Officers, Instructors and Officer Cadets of Intake 22.

RIMBA, Thursday, 24 August 2023 - The Land Force Officer Cadets (OCdts) of Intake 22 completed their Eagle Strike Exercise at the Royal Brunei Air Force Base, Rimba under the guidance of 31 Squadron, No. 3 Wing, Royal Brunei Air Force. The 3-day long exercise introduced OCdts to the 2 methods the Parachute Airborne Tactical Delivery Unit (PATDU) utilises in their operations; Abseiling Resupply System and Jungle Line Resupply.

TANAH JAMBU, Friday, 18 August 2023 - The Officer Cadets of Intake 22 recently completed their Ground Control Exercise at the FIBUA Village, Penanjong Garrison. The 7-day long exercise adapted a series of confrontation training which highlighted the interaction with the general public. Prior to the exercise, the OCdts had theoretical lessons delivered by Officers from the Chemical Biological Radiological Explosive Defense Unit (CBRE) and Combat Engineering Squadron (CES) of the Royal Brunei Land Force, the Judge Advocate General Office (JAG) on Operational Law and the Military Police. Additionally, the instructors from OCS DA RBAF took part in doing demonstration and practical applications.
